He and Kaari designed them and did the iron-on transferring themselves.

Bingo! Now, that's the best idea. Just make up iron-on xfers and
everyone can put them on whatever the heck they want.

Thankfully, your memory is a lot better than mine. Do you still have
your apron? Someone, I think Dee, wanted to know what brand it was.
Mine has disappeared.

Er-r-r-rm, I prolly do. somewhere. Never wore it. I'm not an apron
person. Have you contacted Zelt directly? I just sent him a note
asking him to check in here. We'll find out soon enough if the address
is still good.

When food and cooking became a secondary topic here, I think both
decided they have better things to do.

I left for a while too. For the reasons you mentioned and because of my
irritation caused by the number of people who post here who evidentially
don't have a basic cook-book. BTW, there is no brand name or other
identification on the Seattle apron. I just checked mine.

I'm not around long enough to be mean to anyone. I just pop in and out
to see what's up and if things have changed....but mostly to see if
CharlieLiam and a few others ( including you) are ok.

Yeah! And, as you know, it is your fault that I am back here again! <smile>
Thank you for the jump-start Deb. I'll hang around for a while. RFC has been
a big part of my life for the last 10-11 years and is hard to give up. Nice
to see you too Harry!

You are welcome. Fortunately it was one of the things in my house that I
knew it's whereabouts. I only had to move 2 boxes and a cat carrier to get
to the drawer it was in!

Thanks Christine! Not missed by everyone I think, as I was called a troll by
someone before I left the group this time! <giggle> Didn't bother me but it
was really funny! I may return with a sharper edge than before and suffer

Harry, Good to hear from you. I will also not be mean to you, at
least not for a little while. How is the family, pets included? You
were missed and do not tell me that I owe you an email, I know that.

I will have a serious talk with your grandmother for discouraging you
from posting here. She/he/it still does, even if only seldom. She is
getting old. ( Eighty three, isn't it? M

I want one, too. You can get them fairly inexpensively on eBay, but I have
no idea of the quality. I was in band, so most of my stuff was background
noise. The only solo I ever got to play was Londonery Aire (or however
that's spelled). And I've had a particularly bad experience with someone
named Dan, so I'm not sure I'm ready to go there.

Augusta Sportswear in Georgia makes aprons. I don't know if you can
purchase some without being in a garment embellishing business, but you can
call.

Here's their site: http://www.augustasportswear.com/agsorder/apdis.shtml

Apricot Almond Coffee Cake

Recipe By : Fleischmann's?, posted to rec.food.cooking by Barb
Schaller 8/9/05
Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00
Categories : Coffee Cakes
Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
Dough
2 3/4 to 3 1/4 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 package Fleischmann's RapidRise yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground mace or nutmeg -- optional
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup water
3 tablespoons margarine or butter -- cut up
1 egg

Filling
1/2 cup apricot jam or preserves
3/4 cup chopped dried apricots or golden raisins
1/3 cup slivered almonds -- toasted

Icing
1 cup sifted powdered sugar
1 to 2 Tbsp. milk
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

In large bowl, combine 1 cup flour, sugar, undissolved yeast, salt, and
mace. Heat 1/2 cup milk, water, and butter until very warm (120-130?);
stir into dry ingredients. Stir in egg and enough remaining flour to
make soft dough. Knead on lightly floured surface until smooth, about 7
minutes. Cover; let rest 10 minutes.

Roll dough to 20x9" rectangle; spread evenly with jam. Sprinkle
apricots and almonds over jam; roll up tightly from long side, pinching
seam to seal. Form into ring; pinch together ends. Place, seam side
down, on greased large baking sheet. With sharp knife, make cuts along
outer edge of ring at 1-inch intervals, cutting 3/4 of the way through
dough. Turn each section on its side to show filling. Cover; let rise
in warm place 30 to 60 minutes or until doubled.

Bake at 350? for 30-35 minutes or until done; cover with foil after 20
minutes to prevent excess browning. Remove from pan; cool on wire rack.
In small bowl, combine icing ingredients; stir until smooth. Drizzle
over coffee cake.
