Since England is considering banning large pointy knives, what kind of
problems (if any) would I encounter attempting to mail a large kitchen
knife to a friend as a gift???

Any special packaging, declarations, permits or any other PITA
considerations?

Problem solved once you contact the maker (intra-England shipping). Some
information about that should be available through the source you intend
to buy the knife from.

It's only $7.00.

I bought one for myself and I've fallen in love with it! The weight is
excellent and it holds a killer edge! Stays nice and sharp with lots of
use.

I do not ship any knives to the UK, Africa, Indonesia or the Middle
East unless they are going directly to members of the U.S. military at
an APO/FPO address. Way too many problems.

Other countries such as Australia and Italy also have tough import
restrictions with regard to knives but I can usually get around them by
declaring my product as "camping tools" or "fishing accessories."

Oh I'm well aware of what it costs to ship to England....
It's a real PITA as I'm an ebay seller! The Brit's also
know it when they bid and they bid anyway. Same with Australia.
