Where can I locate recipes for these rolls that are easy to bake in
either a conventional oven or convection oven? |

Do webtv subscribers have a normal connection to the Web? If not, then the OP won't be able to follow your advice. Regardless, by my standards of "easy," there are NO easy recipes for cinnamon rolls: There's no escaping the need to roll out the dough, sprinkle with the cinnamon mixture, roll the dough it into a log, slice the rolls, and then bake them. That's the most difficult part of the whole procedure for me; I'm just not all that good at rolling out dough into a rectangle. (It ends up looking like an amoeba.) Making the dough itself falls under "easy enough" for me; I make the brioche recipe in the "Baking With Julia" cookbook, and I've done it enough times that it's second nature by now. But I just don't have a handle on a reliable rolling-out procedure. Bob |

Isn't this just about as good to most people without the trouble? Cinnamon rolls are soo fattening, and the rolling, etc. is so time consuming, why not find a good place that sells them. Yeah, right! Your description of your amoeba-like rectangles tickled my funny bone. I generally get an almost-rectangle, and then even it out by selective rolling and scootching with my hands into a rectangle shape. LOL. I don't think any part of cinnamon rolls is hard - love to make them - pecan rolls are even better but that's because I'm allergic to pecans, and so I leave them out. The brown sugar/butter/corn syrup gooey stuff is to die for. N. |
