Wow!
Two pizzas just arrived on my doorstep from Lou Malnati's in Chicago. I live in Colorado....I didn't order them, there's no note...and my name is on them, so it's not a mis-delivery. They're still frozen solid, dry ice and cooler and all... This is way too cool. I suspect I know where they came from, but now I'm not sure if I should ask that person or just go heat up the oven. I'd hate to thank someone and then find out they didn't send it... Mmmmmm..pizzzzzzzzzza! Donna |

Hi, Well do let us all know how the pizzas were!?
I've been to Lou Malnati's, as I used to live in Chicago. Ultimately, Deep Dish is not my fav, but Lou's was very good, as they used very good genuine ingredients throughout. Hope you enjoy, Mark |

They assume all is well, and go ahead and eat it. Perhaps it's being overly cautious but I would at least want to know who sent it before eating it. If for any reason just to know who sent it, and to be able to thank them personally. There are enough people in the world who would attempt to cause harm to other people even people they don’t know. Think back to the Tylenol poisonings that happened in the past. Things like that do happen, you idiot. Now as for you Ms. Whoever since WHEN were we on a FIRST name basis? I spent a bit of time with him on the phone helping him with some computer issues, so he sent me the pizzas as a "thank you." That's who I figured it was, but it's also the same week as our wedding anniversary, so I had a couple other suspects I had to weed out of the equation before I thanked the wrong person, which could have been awkward. And then he called and left a message on the machine, so there wasn't any question. I don't know why they didn't say who the order was from; it might have been an error on their part, or he might not have thought of it when he ordered. He probably planned on calling anyway. We had the first pizza last night. Pan pizza isn't my favorite, but it was good, and a darned thoughtful gesture on his part. If something arrived on my doorstep and I absolutely couldn't think of anyone who could have sent it, I would have been a bit suspicious. But in this case, it was more a matter of which one it was. And considering how pricey it is to send food next-day air from there to here (I know, I've done it), it just didn't make sense that it was a practical joke or a random stranger. Donna |

What a nice and thoughtful guy! Too bad there was no enclosure so
that you could have called to thank him w/o turning into a detective. In any case, I like pan pizza (you mean deep dish, right?) and I would have been very, very pleased (shocked, but pleased) by that thank you gesture. ```````````````````` On Sat, 13 Aug 2005 23:41:02 -0600, D.Currie wrote: > > "sf" > wrote in message > ... > > On Fri, 12 Aug 2005 16:47:57 -0600, D.Currie wrote: > > > >> we figured out who sent it, anyway. > > > > So, who was it? Rich states: "Ok, so I typed something I didn't mean too, oops. But
was I responding to you in the first place?" It should be "I typed something I didn't mean to"--"too" denotes "also". |

On the other hand, I had a few people in mind who might have gifted us with Chicago food. My worry wasn't poisoning, it was thanking the wrong person. The first pizza is gone, the second is waiting in the freezer. It will be perfect for one of those days when I just don't have time to get into the kitchen to make something else for dinner. Donna |

It's certainly a nice gesture. As far as the enclosure, he called soon enough that it wasn't such an issue. I think he planned it that way. Have the pizzas arrive and let me wonder for a few hours, then call and admit to sending them. Me not being here to answer the phone when he called added some time to that, as well. The speculating as to who might have sent them was part of the fun, though. Donna |

I thank you not only for posting thought provoking food ideas, but for injecting a note of sanity such as in this thread. Yes, I have a killfile. There are three posters in it.
