At a PRICE.... (wiping brow). The dishware my grandparents paid $50
for an entire set for - is now $30+ a plate and counting... because
the auction isn't over yet. My goodness! That's what I'd expect to
pay for low end company type china! That "railroad pattern" was
everyday stuff (meant for kids, cats & dogs) and not reserved for
company.

Not only am I surprised it's so expensive, I'm surprised it's offered
only one item at a time. Geeze Louise, <singing> "o' the times they
are a chaaange...'n".

but I really feel like
so that makes me :/
No, really... I know how I feel - honest.

No, the only shows I remember from my childhood is the Friendly Giant,
Lawrence Welk, Giligan's Island, and the Brady Bunch. I saw GI and BB
at a friend's house a few times. My mom thought those kind of shows
would rot your brain. Just after I got married I discovered Saturday
morning cartoons Later I found cartoons are considered good relief
because they make you laugh and they are linear thought.

The ng thing is really touchy. If they can show it is a non-selling ng
and you post any links to your auctions they will cancel without asking
any questions. There's no warning or anything They have gone to the
point the little seller is really penalized right from seller's fees to
the way they deal with them. A buyer can even file a complaint it their
item isn't received within 7 days IIRC. How fair is that. As if anyone
has time to just drop and run to the post office and they don't even
consider once the item has been sent the seller has no control. Ebay
used to be a lot of fun. Now it seems to be more of a hassle. It's a
different type of buyer too. They want something for nothing, bid then
complain about terms as if they couldn't read the terms before bidding,
and then complain every step of the way. One guy actually got a neg
because the buyer paid for the item and didn't receive it the next day!

Welllll, my dinnerware is NOT that pricey. My grandmother got it for
me bit by bit at the grocery store 20 or so years ago -- you know, you
buy X amount of groceries, get a plate (or whatever). But I really
like it, it's stoneware, and it looks nice and it suits my lifestyle.
Unfortunately, I've managed to break quite a few pieces over the
years. I'm down to 2 salad plates (from 8), broke the large platter
many years ago, have only 1 serving bowl. I just looked on ebay and
the only piece they have is the serving bowl I already have. I still
may try to pick it up, may as well have 2 serving bowls.

If anyone has any they'd like to get rid of, it's "Avondale "The
Covington Edition". The serving bowl on ebay is priced at $4, that
should give you an indicator of price!

Thanks for the tip! I just checked it out, and no salad plates, the
only items they have are ones I already have. But I registered for
their updates. Cool!

Two large boxes will be heading your way tomorrow.

Thanks to everyone to bid on our stuff. All the auctions are finally over
and we can start leading semi-normal lives again.
