Default Insulated Ice Tray

My fridge has an automatic ice maker. It is also self defrosting. My
problem is that ice from the icemaker gets thawed and refrozen so much
that it sticks into a large clump of ice in the back of the tray. It
would seem that if I had an insulated tray that it might slow the
process. I took some cardboard and put it behind the two sides of the
tray that touch the walls and on the bottom. This seemed to slow it a
little but not enough to stop it.

Anyone have another solution?

Drop a line to the manufacturer - this is not correct there is something amiss
with one of the settings. What make, model, year etc.

I forgot to mention that it is probably 20 years old. My guess is that
manufacture will not do anything. At least I got my moneys worth on
the appliance.
