Yes!
What you do is click on recipes on the upper left hand side and when the
page opens it will say register at the top of the page.

Really good instructions for a pumpkin Cheesecake. I watched it on TV
yesterday. They would apply to most cheesecakes. As well as lots of other
tested recipes. They print the magazine Cook's Illustrated Magazine. I'd
get the mag, but I'll be on the road 6 months of the year and it makes
getting subscriptions a little hard.

I have seen that on the left, in the page of recipe! I was afraid to go on!

Maybe you could do what I do: Rather than subscribing to the magazine, I get
the hard-bound collection at the end of each year. I've been doing that
ever since they came back into business. (Cook's Illustrated was a standout
magazine in the 1980's, but went out of business for several years. I'm not
sure who resurrected it, but they have my eternal gratitude. I still have
some of the magazines from the original incarnation.)

I've often wondered if the books under the titles of Cook's Illustrated they
are now printing
http://www.campusi.com/author_Cook's_Illustrated.htm
( and are getting as numerous as the Williams-Sonoma Books)
if a lot of the articles have been in the magazines in the last few years
(or over the years).
I've bought a few of the books (not the yearly magazine books) and checked
out a few at the library, so have been curious.

Nope! Something even better! In 2 weeks my hubby and I will both be fully
retired! We are moving from a 4 bedroom house with an ensuite bathroom and
an upgraded kitchen as well as a separate granny flat. The ground floor
alone is 1101.50 sq ft. The bedroom with the ensuite is 577.50 sq ft. And
I had clean all this! The apartment is 377.50 sq ft alone. And, we are
moving to a lovely mobile or manufactured home with only 980 sq ft. So you
can well imagine we had a loooot to get rid of. Anyway. We have a
motorhome and plan to travel 6 months of the year. That's what I meant by
it not really being easy to have a mag subscription.

Inside every issue of Cook's Illustrated, there's a little pull-out card. It
contains the information about subscriptions, but it also contains ordering
information for the annual hard-bound collections. In addition to the
complete magazines (articles, artwork including the covers, and everything
else you'd find in the actual magazines), the hardbound collections contain
a recipe index for the entire year's run of the magazine. They released a
tenth-anniversary collection which contained a separate recipe index for the
entire decade. (How cool is THAT?)

If you want to get on their list, they'll send you the annual collection
every year until you tell them to stop; that's what I've done. If you DON'T
want them to do that, but you want to get one or more of the collections
they have available, just make it clear when you place your order.

I just skimmed over their web site; it looks like you might be able to get
in touch with their customer service by calling 800-526-8442.

The way I read it, you get an email news letter and recipes... like
Lydia's Italy does. They say collect IP addresses, that's it.

If you check a box, you will also get email from site sponsors and can
also get a trial magazine if you wish. When you click yes for trial
magazine, they sweeten the deal by offering a free gift to get you to
buy it *now* - a hard cover cookbook called Italian Classics. I was
ready to fork over my money, but got caught in a loop... so I have to
wait until after the holiday to try again. I called customer service
about it. Part of their system was down and they said sometimes the
order goes through anyway, so Tuesday is the earliest I can find out
if it went through or not.

These kitchens look like paradise compared to what we traveled in for a
full year - a 22' Prowler. I made a lot of packaged macaroni & cheese with
added peas or tofu for any meal: breakfast, lunch or dinner. But 'twas
fun!
