This is the last official notice that this year's San Diego Cook-In will be
held this coming Saturday, June 12th, at 1:00 p.m. in Poway. It is by no means too late to attend. Just email me and I will send info and directions. If you have never attended a cook-in before, let me assure you that you will enjoy it very much. You are sure to make many new life-long friends. This is a chance to meet those folks whom you only have seen as names on rfc messages. Put a face to the name! You don't even need to cook! Just come and eat, drink and talk! Cheers, Charlie, on behalf of the SD Cook-In Committee |

Just come and >eat, drink and talk! > >Cheers, >Charlie, on behalf of the SD Cook-In Committee > As I wrote to Charlie, I don't know if I will be able to attend or not. I am hoping to be able to, but there are several considerations and problems. One, I am between assignments right at the moment. In Sacramento right now, but I could be getting an offer of an assignment tomorrow or the next day, and then I would be taking off for said assignment. I am trying to see if I could postpone the start of one until after the cook-in, so I could attend. But I won't even know til later in the week. The second major problem is this: I don't have a place in which to cook now. I wanted to fix at least one thing in particular, but it had to be made ahead of time. I suppose I could cook other things, but I was wanting to make this. Another thing: I have all my kitchen stuff in my car, but that is the problem. It is packed. And I mean PACKED. So it brings me to this. If I am able to come to the cook-in, is there anyone who can let me cook in their kitchen? So that I could try to cook some stuff before hand? I probably wouldn't know til a few days from now, which I know isn't much time. As I said before, I am currently in Sacramento, but I would be driving down to the San Diego area. I do have a friend in the Los Angeles area that I will try to contact and see if I could cook in her kitchen. However, she just moved and she might not have it entirely set up yet. Christine |

We will try to do a better job this time to do some online posting at this event than we did last time. There will be follow-up posts with recipes as well. On a personal note, I will be here until after the recipes are posted. After that I will be taking a break from this newsgroup for an undetermined period of time. Cheerio, Charlie |

Charlie and everyone else,
I won't be able to make it down for the cook-in, due to some financial considerations and a few other factors. Have a good time everyone! Take lots of pictures! Christine |
