Default sheep's milk in the UK

I am trying to make some sheep's milk cheese but I can't seem to find an
easy supply of (good quality) sheep's milk in the UK. Does anyone have
any recommendations. I am in London, so a real physical shop here would
be great. Otherwise, it will have to be mail order I suppose.

Cheers,
Raphael

Try these people http://www.sheepdairying.com/About.htm. They say they
sell/sold sheep's milk for drinking. But I don't know where.

Just cannot think of a single shop I've been to in London that ever
carried sheep's milk. Of course if it was labelled exclusively in Arabic
or some other script I can't read, I might have missed it
The yoghurts and cheeses are easy to find, but not the milk. Even when I
lived in Somerset, which is rather sheep-ridden, there was no ewe's milk
to be had unless I went into the fields and got it myself. Which I
didn't even contemplate....

Have you tried checking your local Waitrose? I know they have goat's milk.
I've not tried looking for ewe's milk there.

I phoned their central customer service number and they said they didn't
sell ewes' milk. Does anyone know different?

Used to shop at Waitrose all the time in Central London; no ewe's milk.
Until it becomes trendy, it isn't upmarket enough for Waitrose.

I'm sure I've seen some in various organic type shops. Alara
Wholefoods by where I am on Marchmont St, for example, but will check
the next time I go by. Also, did Neal's Yard have some? Or was it only
goat's milk? Best of luck with the cheesemaking!

Hmm used to shop at Alara when I worked at Birkbeck. The ewe's milk
might be a relatively recent addition. Never saw any at Neal's Yard, but
then was only looking for goat's milk.

It's a tough one. The Sheep Dairying association says it promotes ewe's
milk packaged for drinking, but where is it sold?

I'm seeing my voice teacher in Hornsey tomorrow, and I often pop into
the organic shop around the corner from him. I'll see if they have
any and let you know.

After a comprehensive search, the answer for London is...

Fresh & Wild Shops, in Westbourne Grove , Old Street, Lavender Hill,
Soho and Stoke Newington.
Also the Planet Organic in Westbourne Grove and Torrington Place.
Dandelion in Northcote Road, Battersea.

The delivery is weekly to all these shops, so you can order extra milk
from them. Olivers in Kew, also stock a wide range of our sheep dairy
products.

Cheers,
Raphael

Well done! Didn't know Fresh & Wild had a shop in Old street. Planet
Organic is a great place!
