Default Back home from MN....and a note to you all.

I got home Wednesday after 2 weeks in the Twin Cities. Well, there and
Grantsburg and Siren, Wisconsin. I had a great time seeing our own Queen of
All Things Preserved (and Brownies Too), Barb Schaller, at the Great MN Get
Together. It was a good day for eating food on a stick!

I am happy to say I got my yearly fix of Minnesota Mushy Chow Mein, as my
birthday was just 3 days before I got there and my sister had graciously
planned a birthday party for me the night we arrived. Chicken chow mein,
fried rice, and egg foo yung....it was heavenly! And to top it off, and
chocolate-strawberry ice cream cake (chocolate cake, strawberry ice cream).

I sincerely hope everyone here made it through the hurricane and subsequent
traumas in the South. I am very grateful that my husband returned from
picking up Brian just prior to all the chaos. It's been a bit mind boggling
looking at the roads he'd traveled so soon before that are no longer there,
and if they are there, no longer recognizable. I am also *very* grateful
that my relatives who would normally have been in New Orleans and Biloxi
were already up in Wisconsin for the family reunion when the devastation
took place. You can bet I'll be thankful for years to come.

Glad to be home.
