Every time I see the subject line I wonder "how did they turn the beef
stroganoff into oysters?

I like pickled beets, but not plain cooked ones. My DH cooks liver so that
it is delicious. Lots of onions and bacon, and the liver is poached rather
than fried.

Charlie, have you ever eaten geoduck? It's better than clams, IMHO...

I call them "Beef Stroganoff" and "Beef Burgundy." There are way too many
vowels in that other thing.

Not to mention that if you're going to the trouble of saying "bourguignon,"
you might as well also say, "boeuf."

No indeed Julian! I fear them. Quite possibly they are an ET lifeform.

Egad! I don't even want to have to look at one let alone try to eat the
thing.

And how did we get from oysters to geoducks?

There are connections here, if you have the proper twisted mind. Rocky
Mountain Oysters are a beef product. And if you have ever seen a
geoduck, you can easily understand that it could serve as a substitute
for the (ahem) missing component of the RMOs.

In the interests of good taste I will not attach the "serving
suggestion" photograph...

I was wondering that myself. :-)

I confess, I searched the Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe's web site for
a photo of the giant they've got -- I was hoping to post a link to
tease Charlie with. What can you say about a shop that sells both
homemade fudge AND shrunken heads... <grin>

Heh! My mother used to make geoduck steaks; by the time she
pounded them out, floured, and fried them, they didn't resemble
a clam any longer. I miss her cooking...
