Default When food fighters go bad

Everything seems to amplify these days. When I was that age, no one
got hurt in a food fight

WATERBURY, Conn. June 11, 2004 — A food fight that started with fruit
cup turned into a mealtime melee, serving up a full plate of arrests
and injuries.
Seven seventh-graders were arrested after a spat in a middle school
cafeteria left two teachers and a detective with injuries Wednesday.

Just goes to show, that old adage is true. that is, you should take the food
OUT of the tin before throwing it.

The full article said that the seventh graders ranged in age from 12 to
14 years old.
What's a fourteen year old doing in seventh grade?

Learning?
Depends on when the child's birthday was. Most start first grade at 6 but
this is the end of the school year so they could be seven. Add to that 7
years of schooling and you have 14

Well, some are learning. Add *6* years of schooling to 1st to get 7th
grade (and thirteen years old). I.e.:
Finish first grade at age 7
Second at 8
Third at 9
Fourth at 10
Fifth at 11
Sixth at 12
Seventh at 13.
