Hi,
I just recieved a pound or so of fresh basil. What can I do with it besides make pesto sauce? I very interested in some ideas where I can freeze the results. Thanks, Boots |

That said: Basil, tomato & mozzarella w/a drizzle of balsamic. Basil pesto as you mentioned. Dry it. Fresh basil to top a salad. Stuff it under the skin of a chicken. Be careful cooking it, it can turn black. |

Basil oil will hold also. http://tomsaaristo.com/basil.html -T |

A POUND of basil?? Holy crap! Anyway...do the "Martha Thing" with it.
Find a freezer container and layer the basil leaves with kosher salt and paper towels between layers. Then you freeze it. You can also freeze the leaves in ice cube trays. With water. Remove from trays, and store the cubes. |
