At the art show in Davenport there was a woman with a large stroller...
you'd expect a child in a stroller, right? Nope. 4 small shaggy terriers
sitting there taking in the view along with a Shitzu and a chihuahua hanging
out of her purse.

Too cute. Also saw a HUGE English bull mastiff, less than 2 years old and
that dog was BIG; 180 lbs and not yet 2 years old. That night we talked
about what must be the size of mastiff pups? The next day there was a 20
pound bull mastiff pup, only 10 weeks old. Yep, hefty dogs! Forget about
carrying one of those around in a backback or stroller!

So long as we're showing off cats here are my three:

Randy:
http://members.cox.net/doctoryes/randy1.JPG

Emily:
http://members.cox.net/doctoryes/emilysit2.jpg

Cosimo:
http://members.cox.net/doctoryes/cosimo3.JPG

Interestingly the recurring them with regard to color seem to be
gradients of black/white.

It's because cats, unlike fellow humans, aren't judgemental.

Not only do they eat better than any cat they eat better than any
human, in fact they're cared for better in every way.

Well fed. ;-)
We have a chubby gray like that named "Maris".
Sweetest little girl on the face of the planet!
She's our only obese kitty. Looks like a gray basketball with
a little kitty head stuck on one end......

We have 4 calicos and 3 tortys along with the 3 grays. :-)
Also black, white and siamese. I used to have a long haired black and
white named "Laurel", but she passed away from a spinal tumor.

We have one Tuxedo tom named "Wizard".

True... ;-)
But they are good judges of character, as are dogs.
If your pet does not like someone, you should probably avoid them!

That's what I figured...... :-)

But who wants all good... there are situations where bad is good... you
know you love it!

I read an interesting book review a few years back. The book was about
one of the most powerful Nazis, responsible for the slaughter of many
innocent people. He had a dog, whom he loved dearly, and the book went
into detail about that. There had been other criticism about this
author, for making this horrible Nazi seem to have a good side. The
review pointed out that almost everybody loves somebody or something,
and that demonizing someone just left you immune to the next person who
came along and did something horrible.

Hitler was very fond of one of his nephews and doted on him. He also
loved his mother dearly.

There is no absolute black and white. This is because we're human.

Randy and Cosimo are beautiful furbabies, Tony, but I couldn't pull up the
picture of Emily. Cosimo is a wonderful color but he doesn't really
qualify as a tuxedo. Tux's have to be pure black and white, but don't tell
him! :-)

Except that people that hate cats are usually control freaks, and they
are usually serious dog lovers!

Don't get me wrong, I do love dogs but I also adore cats.
Many dog fanatics hate cats because cats are far more independant and
don't have the "slave" personality that most dogs do.

Most abusive people that I've known, (people that abuse other humans)
have been dog lovers/cat haters.

Cheers!

Call the fire department! Don't they love getting cats out of trees?

That's what we did! Popie, our latest addition, was discovered perched on
a 3rd floor window ledge with no visible means for having gotten there.
The windows were the type that don't open, but she was begging to get in.
The fire department was very responsive and very kind.

He's always been a bit of a cranky cat, particularly since Emily came
into the picture when he was 3.

He's the most laid back cat I've ever come across. Of course when one is
laying on the couch it's a bit uncomfortable when he wants some human
interaction time.

Interestingly he has two traits that lead me to believe he may have Main
Coon ancestry. First, he's got the extra toes (polydactyl) on his front
paws, and also has tufted fur growing from the pads of his feet. Those
are telltale Main Coon traits.

I'm not too sure about that. Randy is everyones friend, as is Cosimo to
a certain degree. But Emily doesn't want any part of strangers.

That is precisely why I won't have a dog. I don't want to be a slave to
the dog. Cats on the other hand are take it or leave it types. I like
that.

Interesting. I haven't knowingly abused a human recently.

We both thank you. Emily isn't really a black cat - she's more a very
deep reddish brown - you can see it in the picture. She also has a bit
of a tortie pattern on her when you put her under bright light.

All 6.5lbs (Actually she's put on a little weight and is probably 8lbs.
right now)

I was only a bird person until my ex- brought home a puppy. After Sampson
died, Persia the cat decided to join my household. She *demanded* I let her
inside on a very cold day in January, 2001. Couldn't be without her now.

Well, tea cups are more of a rarity I think. At 6 lbs., all 5 of my cats
weight at last twice that much. :-)

Nice cats... butts what with yoose folks and the *extreme* close-ups,
no one showed you how to switch off the telephoto... totally ruin
purrfectly good photo ops, especially awful with those el cheapo low
resolution digi cams. And just as horrendous are those plated foods
some of yoose offered, that liver n' onions makes lung cancer look
appetizing. From your photography I imagine yoose eat hunched over
your plates with your noses an inch from the food... when was the last
time yoose had eye exams, really.

Your cat is cute! Daisy is 6.8 lb and we don't know how she stays that size
for what she eats.

You have to capitalize the "jpg" to "JPG". It will work then.

NOTE: All three kitties are gorgeous!!
