oatmeal. Enjoy

I thought you needed to know that when an American says use
"oatmeal" - rolled oats are implied (not steel cut).

There are several types of rolled oats available: Old Fashioned (5
minute cooking time), Quick (1 minute cooking time) and instant. I
find that either the 5 minute or 1 minute type can be used
interchangeably in most cookie recipes and recipes similar to the
above without a problem.

Don't forget steel oatmeal. I like it for as a toping for 12 grain bread.

She meant steel cut oatmeal... it's coarse cut
http://www.foodsubs.com/GrainOats.html and requires a "real" cooking
time. Although we can buy no-name steel cut oatmeal in bulk, this
brand is popular in the United States:

for starters, when you look at them, they're actually flat! They are
oat groats that are steamed, rolled, and flaked so they cook quickly.
