Default CHOCOLATE SPIDERS

Just reposting this recipe because I had no response from anyone.

CHOCOLATE SPIDERS

1 pkt Chang's Original Fried Noodles (100g)
2 Tbspns Crunchy Peanut Butter
200g Cooking Chocolate (milk or dark)

Microwave chocolate and peanut butter in microwave safe mixing bowl for
about 30 seconds on high. If not melted, then microwave again in 5 second
intervals. Mix well until it is a smooth paste. Add noodles and coat them
well. Spoon the mixture onto grease-proof paper, or into individual paper
patty pans. Place in refrigerator until set.

Tip

The spiders can be kept in a sealed container in refrigerator for up to 2
weeks.
They can be kept in freezer for even longer time.

You had no responses, because this is the first time I see this
subject. I would have noticed it. This certainly should be fun for
Halloween.

I'm sorry but I didn't see your recipe before! It is similar to "desert's
rose".
I save it. And I will do as soon as I find noodles.
I've seen that they are pre-fried. Is it true?
Thank you

I posted this on the desert rose thread, that's why some people didn't see
it.

I forgot about Halloween, they would be great for that. Us Australians
aren't into it as much.

I wonder what would be the US equivalent of these. Chow mein noodles?

Why would anyone try to keep peanut butter-chocolate goodies for any
length of time?

They're a precooked dried product that you can eat as-is, or you can add to
stir fries etc. They also come in different flavours. I don't know of any
other brands here in Australia.

This made me laugh. I couldn't imagine any occasion for which
chocolate spiders would be an appropriate treat _other_ than Halloween.

Not everyone gets their newsfeed at the same time, and some folks
ignore recipe posts altogether. But I, for one, thank you -- I'm going
to make these for a Halloween party that Buddy (my 8 year old) was
invited to, they should thrill the kids...

LOL. I've always heard that people who had an artificial smile, that smile
is described as a 'chocolate spider smile.' I didn't know there was such a
food.

Sorry, Jen. Spiders and I don't get along so well, so I passed over
the post. I would have responded to Chocolate Chow Mein Noodle
Thingies, though. I haven't had these in years. Thanks for the
reminder.

Here's my mom's chocolate drop thingie recipe, too:

* Exported from MasterCook *

Unbaked Chocolate Drops

Recipe By amsel
Serving Size : 0 Preparation Time :0:00
Categories : candies

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup cocoa -- or 4 squares chocolate
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 cup butter -- 1 stick
1 cup coconut
3 cups oatmeal
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Combine sugar, cocoa, milk, vanilla, and butter in large saucepan. Cook
on high heat for five minutes only. (232F)

Add coconut, oatmeal, and nuts all at once to cooked mixture.

Drop immediately by teaspoons onto waxed paper.
