Mark: Hope this is it! Joy

Cherry Cheese Danish

1 pkg refrigerated crescent rolls
4 Tbl. softened cream cheese
1 c. cherry pie filling
1/2 c. frosting (cream cheese or vanilla)

Roll out crescent rolls on bakers sheet; seal together perforated edges.
Spread cream cheese over dough.
Spread pie filling over cream cheese.
Bake 10 - 12 minutes @ 375 degrees.
Let cool 5 minutes.
Heat frosting in microwave for 20 seconds, then drizzle over danish.
Refigerate leftovers.

Like the 'non baking cookie' posts i recognize this recipe from my
youth. But now that we have got the OP's question addressed, let us
turn to the 'strudels' of Austria for which a cherry filling is common.
There is also the sponge cake with cherries "Bublanina."

I have a recipe for Linzer torte made with raspberry jam (1 & 1/2 cups)
and i see no reason why canned or fresh cherries could not be used. I
like a tart or slightly sour black cherry.
