I don't know what to call it. It's not a casserole. I boiled 8 oz. of
medium egg noodles, drained them, put them back in the pot with 4 cups of
chicken broth and a can of cream of celery soup. I added frozen corn,
frozen peas, chopped carrots. Looked in the freezer for my frozen broccoli
but couldn't find it so I added a handful of frozen spinach. Added some
fresh (not smoked or salted) almonds. Pepper, tarragon, a couple of dashes
of hot sauce. Tasted it; it still needed something. I added some marjoram
and salt. That's better. And who cares... it's a pot of non-Asian noodles
with vegetables I can add whatever I want to the leftovers!

It sounds good to me, but you've made one fatal mistake. You used
cream of whatever soup. You've now opened yourself up to a thorough
trashing by the food police <G>.

Tsk, tsk, tsk, Jill. You're on your way to 'clean the refrigerator soup.'

I think it's called half a noodle kugel. But without the hassle of a
binding agent and baking.

Reminds me of an old Barney Miller episode. Detective Sam Yamashta is
cooking soup in the office. Wojo comes over and goes, "Blech!! What is
that, garbage?" Yamashta goes "it's not garbage, it's made with fish heads,
carrot tops, celery leaves and leftover noodles." He pauses then says "come
to think of it, that is garbage."

That's pretty funny. Reminds me of spare ribs and coming back to life.

Sounds yummy! :-)
I've added creamed soups to Ramen noodles before, with various veggie
and meat additions.

It's good.

If I add more liquid it will become soup! And after all, someone has to
compete with Jimmy Tango and Sandra Lee!

LOL It's not soup until I add a LOT more liquid to it! But that might be
the next thing I do! Maybe even a can of V-8 juice... hmmm. Wait! It has
vegetables. So if I add some tomatoes and blend it, it could be V-8dles!

That was the station owner. What the heck was his name? Mr. Carlson?

You only know that because you played Jennifer on the show.

Yeah, Mr. Carlson! I swear, I thought... So for once Herb didn't look
like a boob. Less still looked like one and who was they guy who played
Andy? Hot guy back in the day but please, get your hair out of your eyes.

Damn, you're right. What was I thinking? And I must have seen every
episode, too.

Gary Sandy. He still does mostly bit parts every now and again. Seems he
works whenever the mood strikes him.

A great TV show. Doesn't look like it's running on any channels in my
area.

You're right, it's not a casserole. It's in the same category as chicken
tetrazzini, a casserole-like pasta dish. But it could BECOME a casserole:
Just put it into a casserole dish, sprinkle with a mixture of buttered
breadcrumbs and grated cheese, and then bake it.

(I think that actually sounds kind of good.)

Next time! After the first go with this I added more broth, some half &
half and turned it into a very tasty noodle soup.
