Hi i'm from Italy and i would like to use your baking powder for some
recipes of my sister. Problem is that here i couldn't find any similar baking powder. Is there any chance to make your own original baking powder starting from cremor tartar that i own ?? TY in advance. Miki. |

No problem Dimitri HOMEMADE SUBSTITUTE FOR BAKING POWDER 2 tbsp. cream of tartar 1 tbsp. baking soda 1 tbsp. cornstarch Sift together. Store in airtight container. One teaspoon of this is equal to 1 teaspoon store bought baking powder Or Baking Powder, double-acting 1/4 teaspoon baking soda plus 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar plus 1/4 teaspoon cornstarch or 1 1/2 teaspoons single-action baking powder or 1/4 teaspoon baking soda plus 1/2 cup buttermilk, sour milk or yogurt to replace 1/2 cup non-acidic liquid |

Is that so, and does tartar and soda truly act the same as baking powder?? In other words, will the soda/tartar combo only aerate after heat is applied. |
