I already knew the book came about as a challenge when she and Percy were in Geneva with Lord Byron as to who could write the best "ghost" story. I did not know she was only age 19 at the time. Goodness, if she'd been 20 she'd have been an old maid! OB Food: I wonder what they ate for dinner? I'm picturing roasted pheasant. Jill |

You should all expereince spending midnight at Halloween up on the top of
the Abbey mound in Whitby on a seat by the graveyard - unforgettable and I was only 11 (62 years ago!!) - the war was raging and the blackout prevailed everywhere.
