Garbanzo Bean Sauce
A vegetarian friend of mind once made me some stuffed green peppers
with a "gravy" made of garbanzo bean flour - made just like a white sauce with fat & flour and liquid. Don't know if the liquid was milk or water but the dang stuff tasted EXACTLY like the old KFC fried chicken white gravy with all the pepper in it. I always thought that might be why they called them "chick peas". Lynn from Fargo (Can read the group from home, but Gotta post from work these days!) |
