These are the squash I was asking about earlier. The ones that had
been under the dining room table. <G> Jill's soup recipe calls for two large butternut squashes, to total 4 pounds. I just weighed these puppies. They're 5 pounds each! I live in the land of Paul Bunyan, ya know? These were locally grown. http://tinypic.com/f41lht.jpg The large ones I bought at the grocery store later were 4 pounds and 3-1/2 pounds. I can make four batches of squash soup with what I have on hand. Gotta get more freezer containers. LOL! Gotta go take my blue ox for a walk. Carol |

I just didn't want the tattooed areolas or however you spell it. I was also offered nipples, but didn't want that. I've spent my life trying to hide those damned things. Now I don't have to. <G> > It could probably still be done by a skilled plastic surgeon if you > want, and insurance generally covers it in these cases. I sure wish I'd had a skilled plastic surgeon when the work was done. I think it's too late to have insurance fix what she did to me. Carol |

I bought one yesterday so just had to weigh and measure it after your post. I'm thinking I will try Jill's soup. Maybe he will give it a try after I convince him there is no curry in it. IMO the meal she served was wonderful with the exception of the soup. From the veiled looks of others it was easy to see they were quietly choking it down. That's the problem with being a house guest. If it were a restaurant, I would eat what I felt like and leave the rest behind but as a house guest I feel uncomfortable not finishing something for fear of insulting the host. > > >> I'm picking up more squash >> tomorrow so I'll likely freeze most of it except the spaghetti squash. > > > Oh, man do I LOVE spaghetti squash! > > >> Good luck with your soup. > > |

It sure does! Have you ever used retin-A? The first week or so is brutal. And don't get me started on laser treatment. The pamphlet says it will feel like a slight snap of a small elastic. That is total and utter BS! Oh and the conveniently leave out the part that your skin continues to heat up afterwards and you will walk around for a couple of days feeling like you have a sever sunburn kicking yourself for actually paying for the pain! |

Yes, like I said, the tattoo is 10 years old now (slightly older actually) and still looks great! Actual tattoo time was maybe 30 minutes, but she took 2 hours. ;-) She had me raise my hand when I could not take the pain anymore, then I'd go to the bathroom and wipe the ink out of my eyes, then take a deep breath and go again when I was ready. <G> Jan has IMMENSE patience and specializes in cosmetic tattoos. Cost me $250.00 for both eyes, upper and lower. The line is thin, dark brown and IN the actual lash line so it's not really obvious like Michael Jackson's is. It looks pretty natural. Pain-wise? I guess that depends on your pain tolerance. Mine is pretty high. It's FAR cheaper than a plastic surgeon would charge, and I got references. She discards her needles and has an in-office autoclave at the tattoo studio for the equipment. She also uses small, brand new little pots of ink. Discards them after use. Cheers! -- Om. OUCH!!!!!!!!! I can't imagine many more sensitive > places to stick needles. Actually the chest area is probably least sensitive to pain... I have many tats, a huge one on my chest of tall ships, yes shipS, an entire fleet in full sail, water, lighthouse, clouds, birds, and fancy banners. There are many more body parts where tats are far more painful. That said, and from vast up close and personal experience, I'd not recommend tattooed facial cosmetics, especially not about the eyes, unless in about twenty years you won't mind having ancient Batty Davis eyes. Weird. Must have been a nerve or something. I've wanted a petroglyph of a hawaiian turtle (honu) on my ankle for ages, but I hear that's a soft spot, too. Thing is, it only hurts while the artist is doing it and the pain goes away the second the needle goes away. After that, it's only the care of the tat for the next week or two that's a PITA. I hear the head, the neck and the lower back are quite painful as well. Anywhere near the bone. Sheldon, kudos for you to get a tat on the chest. That couldn't have felt really good. kili |

That reminds me, some time in the distant past, some comedienne got a tattoo, she said she's afraid if she lost weight, it would wind up looking like a raisin. Made me laugh. If I was going to get eyeliner tattooed, I'd choose a grey. That might age well ... but then I like grey eyeliner anyway. nancy |
