Can anyone tell me where I would look for unprocessed bran?
Every supermarket I've been to doesn't carry it and the people I've asked about it can't even tell me what it looks like. Thanks, Jerry |

Look in a good health food store. Freshness is important, so shop carefully. Bran can go rancid easily. -- Reg email: RegForte (at) (that free MS email service) (dot) com |

If it's oat bran, look for that. Almost all supermarkets carry oat and wheat bran. What state are you located in that this is not carried? HodgsonMill.com 800-525-0177 makes different brands and sells in the supermarkets back east. They are in Illinois. Miller's bran is just another name for wheat bran, it's not a brand name but the generic name for wheat bran. Your story reminds me of asking for barley in a supermarket. Of course they had pearled barley but the young very uneducated people did not know what barley was. I had to explain that it was a grain, a very popular grain, that often came in a box. |
