Default Unprocessed Bran?

Hi,
I'm new to the group and tried to post this the other night, but can't find
it, so here it goes again.
I have been trying to find unprocessed bran.
I did a search and know that Quaker distributes it, but have not been able
to find it in stores and no one can tell me what it looks like.
Any help is appreciated,
Jerry

Your best bet is a natural foods store or health food store. It may very
well be stored in a refrigerator case, as it has no preservatives and has a
short shelf life at room temperature.

You probably won't be inclined to follow this, but, some years ago, a
friend of mine was off on one of his regular working trips overseas
departing from Brisbane (that's the Oz one, not the CA one) when he
realised he'd forgotten his regular bran to keep him regular while
travelling.

He remembered there was a produce store near the [old] airport
entrance, so walked back to it and stocked up with the bran they sell
for chooks.

Dunno what it tasted like (probably like bran but I gather its
effect was as required and anticipated.

Cheers, Phred.

Have you checked the health food stores? If they don't have it on hand
they could likely order it for you. My guess is most health food stores
would have unprocessed bran.

Unprocessed bran is usually on the shelf. Wheat germ is in the fridge,
since it has a high amount of oil in it that could go rancid.
