Yes he is presumptuous in assuming many things... this is the product of his pride. In the continued interest of bringing this thread back on-topic for all NGs receiving this post... **All** participants of USENET are cordially invited to the following on-line event that will take place day after tomorrow or Thursay (11/10/05) from 6-7 pm EST in Paradise: http://tinyurl.com/cpayh There will also likely be other invited guest experts participating to field medical/diabetes/nutrition/diet/cooking questions (including Jeff, Bob and Gary if they are able to overcome their fear of the light that is Christ Jesus. However this is unlikely since they failed to appear on 11/3/05 when invited. Still one can continue to hope :-). Marengo,
I have to side with Chung--he belongs to a religion that encourages wearing one's religion on one's sleeve, so to speak. He would not be true to his faith if he did not prosyletize to everyone he comes into contact with. Although I find born-agains tiresome, I've studied their faith and understand that this is a key element--endless evangelizing. While I find it repugnant (based on my beliefs) I do acknowledge his belief and his freedom to act according to those beliefs as long as he causes no harm. Some might believe he *does* harm, but again, they are free to have their beliefs. I hope you are right, and that people start looking beyond the major world revealed religions as a result of the actions of the believers of those religions. I think the world will be a better place if/when people eventually find beliefs that are more accepting, supportive, and reality-based. pc |

There is a passage in the bible, and I can't remember where right now, that says to move on when you are unwelcome. It also says to preach to the world, not sit in your chair preaching the word to the same people over and over again. Chung is not interested in going out to the world. Christians are also supposed to let the light shine from them, nothing shines from Chung. You can't be a good example if no one wants to be near you. My Christian friends glow. |

If only AndyCap would heed these passages. I would love to see him shaking virtual dust from his feet as he vanished over the usenet horizon, never to return. From then on to only see his "good works", not incessantly hear about how good he thinks he is would be a very welcome change. Unfortunately it seems that Andy regards himself as the "Jesus Bolt" of modern Christianity. He sees himself as pivotal to the religion, rather than as the very small, somewhat irritating smudge on the lens of life that he actually is. BTW "Jesus Bolt" is an expression from my hang-gliding days. It was the bolt that held everything together; if it failed you got to meet Jesus rather sooner than you might have been expecting.
