Posted this on rec.food recipes over a week ago and haven't gotten anything yet so I thought I'd try
here. Does it sound familiar to anyone? Somewhere between 45 and 50 years ago my mother used to make Butterscothh Cookie Bars. The only thing I remember is that she poured a thick batter into a 9 x 13 baking pan then poured a mix of egg yolk and brown sugar into the pan. When they were done the result was a sort of chewey shortbread bar with a layer of butterscotch sauce in the middle. If there was ever a recipe written down it's never been found. Does this sound familiar to anyone? It may have been a recipe found on a package of Bisquick, Gold Medal or Robinhood flour, or Domino's brown sugar since she used these a lot. TIA |
