Default Penzeys in CA!!!

Heya all,

I was just looking over one of the recent Penzeys catalogs, and
noticed that a new Penzeys store is opening in Torrance this holiday
season. On Hawthorne Blvd.. Finally, CA gets a Penzeys!!!!

Any of our southern CA cohorts know if it is open yet?

I can see where I will be stopping on my way home after Christmas!!!!

I saw that also...I wish they would open one that is closer than 45 miles
away from me.

I seem to remember Mark Horne saying it is to open early in 2006. Not long
to wait!

Their catalog and the web page says it is the holiday season in which
it will be open. And on the web page, it says that if you are reading
it now, it is more than likely already open.

Keep in mind that now that Penzey's has a bricks-and-mortar presence
in California, they will have to start charging CA sales tax for all
CA residents on online purchases. It's been a while since I ordered
from them, but I don't think they charged sales tax before.

then there's me, I live between 2 Penzeys stores that are very close to me but
I drive some 20 or 30 miles out of my way to go to the one that has a parking
lot. I can't parallel park to save my life so street parking is ut unless I
can nose in.

I didn't think food items were taxed.

Spices may not qualify as food items, in NY they are taxable... can't
say for CA.
