Oooooo, my back, my back! (groan groan). Oops, Damsel already used that
one.
Well see, I just had surgery on my ingrown toenail to have the root
removed. Today after church I took my sneaker off and flopped on the couch
in front of the tree, turned on the lights and sipped eggnog whilst
listening to carols and fell asleep. Later after War of the Worlds and
Polar Express, I really, really went to bed, and just now surfaced. My toe
isn't throbbing anymore, but I can't make the brittle till I have some
coffee and the sun comes up and I get the floor mopped other chores done.
Unlike that creepy Howdy Doody, (or was that Howdy Duty?), I usually put off
till tomorrow what I could do today. I never liked him, his head turned one
way and his eyeballs the other...kinda like people who've sipped a little
too much wine.

As to which recipe, I'm leaning toward using yours for macadamia nut brittle
and Kookie Aunt Ruthie's for the peanut brittle. K? But who knows, I might
change my mind and make Mock Peanut Brittle with Ritz crackers.....I'll keep
you posted.

Pesky little thang, ain't cha?

Two laminectomies on L5-S1, a herniation in L4-L5, and a tear in
L3-L4. I'm faking it.

Well, I know when I'm outclassed. That trumps my toe any day. You're
entitled to some major couch/eggnog therapy for that!
I hope you're healing and the surgeries were successful.

This happened back in '92 from a freak gardening accident. I just
have to be really careful. When I sweep the floors, I'm out of
commission for two days.

I've been planning on making caramels and chocolate covered cherries.
Both involve standing in front of the stove for long periods of time.
I'm hoping they'll both happen. They're SO good! And we're giving
candy as gifts this year. I'm considering standing on a stool.

Means my lower back is toast and I have sciatica. Two surgeries. LOL!

Carol, I just sent people six boxes of Lammes Candies because there's
no way on God's green earth I'm going to get to fudge this year.
Unless it's the day after Christmas, when everything else is all done,
and I can eat it all myself. Actually, toffee and peppermint bark
might not be a bad idea, either, come to think of it...

Then I can do some post-Xmas 'supersize' clothes shopping... just in
time for the sales!

We're too broke to buy gifts, so we're making stuff. As it turns out,
we won't be celebrating Christmas until New Year's, so we have plenty
of time to get things made. Just a little at a time. Turns out we
have four or five recipes that will require standing in front of the
stove for eons. Will definitely need a few days between each thing.

I hear ya on that. I wonder what percentage of RFCers qualify for
supersize clothing? I'll bet it's high.
