*smile* You remember early Saturday Night Live? That's where I
picked up the bitch thing. It's a term of affection. I hope I didn't
offend you.

Tsk!

The correct answer is:

I'm not a bitch.

I am THE bitch

and it's MS bitch to you!

Thank you!

I'll be damned if I'm gonna get up early just to offend the likes of
you. I can offend people in this group at all hours of the day and
night. And I can prove it! Bitch.

Yes, I did misunderstand you. Sorry, my fault! My brain was on backwards.
I do use a mixer and an fp.
Yes, you must be a big guy for your ex-girlfriend to call you that pet name.
It makes me dizzy to think about the possibilities for that title -- LOL.

While not strictly snowed in, I might as well be. We've gotten a few inches
of accumulation over the past few days and people around here aren't used to
driving in such conditions. Rather than getting killed on the roads, I've
been wearing my parka and enjoying my Weber grill. Yesterday I had filet
mignon and today I had NY strip with bleu cheese. I've also been polishing
off a bottle of Balvenie Doublewood. Mmmm good.

No. Rob shoveled around 5:00 a.m., again before noon, and again before
I paid a condolence call on my friend's son and DIL, around 7:00. He
figures we got 8". Roads tonight were wet and sloppy. And plowed.

Oddly enough, the same foods I want when I'm sick! lol
Chicken soup, beef stew, pot pie, ribs & chicken with dressing....comfort
food.
It's been a long while since I've been snowed in, that's for certain...but
there's days when it is dingy and gray and drizzly and cold when it almost
feels like being snowed in: I sure want to stay in my cozy warm house and
snuggle! We're big on having cocoa in front of a fire in the fireplace in
our house too...with a slice of pie or maybe a cookie or two.

My daughter is a fiend for those Swedish meatballs from Ikea! Her best
friend is Swedish, and her mom goes there weekly for lingonberries. One day
they invited my girl along and had lunch. She's been hooked ever since!

Well, her recipe for garlic oil seems to court botulism; I must have lucked
out by using it and NOT dying as a result.

I haven't ever had a recipe from THAT book bomb, but the follow-on book
_Morning Foods_ has a bread recipe which I've never gotten to work.

Oh, we do indeed have Ikea in the States. My girlfriend is an Ikea addict.
Currently, I have to drive 100 miles to the nearest Ikea, so I've been able
to forestall regular Ikea expeditions, but there's an Ikea under
construction in Sacramento. When that finishes, I'll probably be there every
week.

Ikea's pretty far-flung: When I lived in Kuwait, our apartment furniture and
other appointments were mostly from Ikea.

There is one about 50 miles from me, on the way back from "the city" but far
enough that I don't make unnecessary trips to it. I am proud to say that they
last time I went through there I only spent $21. It usually costs me closer to
$150 to walk through that store. They have some great stuff in there. I
especially like their candles. One of the things I picked up on that last trip
was a flexible cutting coat. It is a sheet of plastic sturdy enough to cut on
and flexible enough to fold over and pour things off. At $1.99 it seemed too
cheap not to buy one. When we got home and unpacked things we discovered that
the package had two them inside.

We also have IKEA . I went just yesterday there and I've bought a powder to
make the seasoning (a cream) for meatballs. It is very very good! They eat
these meatballs also with a few sugared lingonberry jam. Very good.

A half cup of beer, huh? I guess I'll be forced to make a triple
recipe of this. What a tragedy! LOL! I love beer soup with popcorn
floating on top.

Thanks!

Hey Carol, we had our pot roast last night, and I baked some (ahem) bread to
go with it. It was one of those Pillsbury pop-n-fresh French loaves. It
wasn't fantastic, but it was warm, and it was bread, and it served its
purpose well: it was quick and easy, it sopped up the pot roast juices
well, and the kids were thrilled with it.

Still waiting to hear what you end up doing with dem bones!

I got mine at Dollarama...two for a buck...Canadian. I've used them
for about 4 months and they are still fine. I cut one in half for small
jobs since my counter is very small. ...Sharon

Pandora, I buy the small jars of the lingonberry jam (Felix brand, I think).
Last time I went (in New Haven, CT) I bought the big bucket of lingonberry
jam and found it isn't as sweet as the Felix brand, and still very good. I
just heaved the last of it this week, it lasted a little too long for two of
us, and took up too much space in the refrigerator.

When we eat there, DH eats the meatball plate, and I eat the salmon plate.
The restaurant in New Haven is quite nice, but the one in Woodbridge, VA is
pretty cramped and not too interesting.

I live about 5 miles from an IKEA. When it wasn't here and the closest was in
Chicago I would make the 400 mile trip to shop a couple times a year, once
even driving down and back in a day. Now that it is so close, I rarely go.

I bought my mattress there about a year ago, and proving that my life is NOT a
porn, the delivery guys were not hot.
