Save that bacon grease. Let cool then put it in a jelly jar, put in the
frige. Its great for whippin up a pan of cornbread use in your cast iron skillet instad of shortning. Or I like to blanch fresh string beans then stir in a little of that Pork Fat! |

I'm making cornbread to go with dinner tonight, so of COURSE I'll be using some bacon fat to grease the cast iron skillet!! Adds a powerful bit of extra goodness to the pan and to the finished cornbread. Spitz -- "Home, James, and don't spare the horses!" |
