Animal Planet aired an hour long "Spider Files: Australia's
Tarantulas" last night (Tues. 10th.) and they showed people in Cambodia eating fried tarantulas. Anyone have a recipe? ;) Kev |

Supposedly they taste like lobster or something like that, I believe I'll have to pass on this dish. For some reason a tribe either in South America or Africa then uses their fangs to pick their teeth. |

Imagine what it must be like to wake up and find a spider whose fangs are big enough to pick your teeth with sharing your bed. Kev |

I know that in Florida lobster divers call lobsters "bugs". If I had to guess what a tarantula would taste like, i'd tend to lean more towards a "crab-like" flavor.... or chicken. Of course if we ate them in the U.S, we'd drown them in ketchup, so it wouldn't matter much what they tasted like. Kev |

A fact that DH delights in reminding me of, whenever we have crab. > I believe I'll have to pass on this dish.
