Actually it has. However, "all available evidence indicates" that the
human-to-human transmission has not been "sustained" presumably because
of the early use of Tamiflu and quarantine. These are like the levees
that protected

Actually the mutation has already occurred:

"Virus from one of the patients shows mutations at the receptor-binding
site. One of the mutations has been seen previously in viruses isolated
from a small outbreak in Hong Kong in 2003 (two cases, one of which was
fatal) and from the 2005 outbreak in Viet Nam. Research has indicated
that the Hong Kong 2003 viruses bind preferentially to human cell
receptors more so than to avian cell receptors. Researchers at the Mill
Hill laboratory anticipate that the Turkish virus will also have this
characteristic."

The H5N1 avian influenza virus does not kill the wild birds that are
carrying it.

More than you can possibly imagine for the MD is combined with a PhD in
genetics plus a discerning heart.

All praises belong to the LORD for this is how he has shaped me.

May you be prescribed Tamiflu in a timely fashion *before* supplies run
out when you are exposed to H5N1, dear Tony whom I love, in Jesus' most
precious and holy name.

Would be more than happy to "glow" and chat about this and other things
like cardiology, diabetes and nutrition that interest those following
this thread here during the next on-line chat (01/19/06) from 6 to 7 pm

For those who are put off by the signature, my advance apologies for
how the LORD has reshaped me:
