I watched the RR program in awe last night. RR expounded on the
healthfulness and low fat of the meal -- a reason to indulge in the special
fries. Holy Moley!! The Turkey Chili cheeseburgers are the size of
Oklahoma and RR pours melted butter over frozen French fries!!! All the
while talking about how the regular version of these foods are too hard on
the waist line. She uses turkey or chicken and then slathers stuff in
cream and cheese and syrups. And RR has no understanding of portion
control. I've never seen her serve up anything that wasn't enormous even by
US standards. End of rant. I just had to.

Absolutely! Which could explain why she looks like a sausage in tight
clothes. And maybe it's diet pills that are making her twitch like a
sick cricket.

Frankly, though, I'm astonished she passes her crap off as "healthy."
Anything that includes a pound of cheddar cheese, a package of bacon,
or a bag of frozen french fries -- you know, 90% of her dishes -- can't
be called anything but a fat bomb.

We caught that show too - ye gods! Actually began wondering if she'd
mistakenly grabbed one of the Odious Miss Sandra Lee's scripts. Know
they can't all be winners, but this entire menu was the stuff of bad
dreams. What was she thinking??? Bletch...Ptooey...ok, I'm done.

Sounds like she hasn't learned much. Reminds me of the episode where she
took canned chili, threw in sliced hot dogs and covered it with a pound of
cheese then served it with corn bread dripping in butter and proclaimed as
she wrapped up the segment "How healthy is that!" and of course her
trademark giggle and the Cheshire cat grin.

Hell, even I won't eat like that. I doubt she eats her own cooking, either.

What disturbed me about the program was that RR was touting the advantages
of getting your kids to eat at home vs. buying fast food that had suspect
ingredients and lots of fat. In other words, RR could serve similar food
that would be healthy, less fat and kids would like. I don't think that
her menu would come out at less calories and fat under actual test
conditions. She's doing her audience and their children a disservice by
teaching that it's o.k. to eat that size portions and that melted butter was
a perfectly reasonable sauce for cooked French fries. She talks about
eating in moderation all the time and then serves up huge portions. I am
truly surprised that no one has challenged her on this. I can't believe
that Oprah can overlook this kind of thing and be an RR supporter.
