Default New Year Dim Sum

It's Chinese New Year's Eve today so we went to Dim Sum! There were 7 of us, 3
were born in china, another raised in a chinese family. Now, I love dim sum,
it's my ideal kind of meal, tons of things to try, they're constantly bringing
you new stuff, everything tastes great. Most of the items are little, roundy
and have pork or shrimp or pork AND shrimp, a few beef things (mmmm the
peppery spareribs), and very few vegetables.

The sad thing is that I don't know what anything is called so I am usually
stuck trying to describe them to the waiters when I don't see them "the
things, they're white, they look like footballs...they're chewy!!!" (those are
my favorite).

The highlight today was the traditional lion dance that took place in the
restaurant. They had a huge drum and cymbals and noisemakers and firecrackers
going while the dragony lions danced and snaked their way around the place.

It was a wonderful meal and a wonderful time.

So sorry, I forgot to give the name. It's Dim Sum: A Pocket Guide.

Are they doughy, large steamed white buns with a filling inside? If
so, they're pork buns, Char Siu Bao

Sorry, I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.
"Football" shaped dim sum doesn't mean anything to me and lots of dim
sum is white.

Does anything here remind you of what you like?

We usually go to a place called Yummy on Nicollet Ave, though I'd really like
to start trying other places in town as their dim sum always seems so much
greasier than other places I have had it. Still super tasty though.

I mentioned before that I had gone to Yummy on Nicollet but I forgot to
mention that they do dim sum all week. During the week they have a limited dim
sum menu and since this place is 2 blocks from where I work I will sometimes
head over there for lunch if I am feeling gluttonous.
