Default Sweet & Sour Wings with Rice

We are doing this eat from the freezers before we have to order more
meat. DH was up in the air about what he wanted for dinner so I finally
said pick between lamb chops or chicken wings. He chose the wings!

These are not the deep fried wings with sauce! We're having sweet &
sour wings with rice tonight and they are one of the very few times I
use white rice. The wings are cooked in a covered roasting pan with a
little bit of water at 250 F for a couple of hours. Then most of the
liquid is drained off and the homemade sauce is poured on. The wings
are returned to the oven and still cooked covered for another couple of
hours then the lid is removed and the sauce is allowed to thicken.
White rice goes really well with these wings and aside of salad I is
likely one of the only dishes I don't serve additional veggies with.
The meat on the wings literally falls off the bones. The sweet tangy
sauce makes a wonderful topping for the rice. The reheat well so I
always make leftovers for snacking and lunches.
