Default Le Creuset French Oven 5.5 or 7.25?

My wife and I are trying to determine what size Le Creuset to purchase.
We have a family of five. Our kids are young (oldest is 11), but two
of the three are boys and already are having an increasing appetite.
:-)

Our question is on whether or not to go with the 5.5 or 7.25 Le Creuset
for 5 people. I'm sure the 5.5 would be fine for our family size
currently. However, we are leaning just a bit towards the 7.25 model
right now simply because we like having some leftovers and feel it may
be better for cooking when having company as well as for when the kids
get older (and eat more). Hopefully someone with a similar sized
family can post and let us know your thoughts on this.

Are there any advantages to the 5.5 over the 7.25 other than being less
heavy? I have read that the 7.25 does fit perfectly on a large burner.

Thanks for any advice!

I don't think so. I would go with the 7.25. We are talking
quarts here, right?

I have the 8 3/4 Le Creuset and LOVE it. You can make a big pot of
stew, soup, whatever you want, and have plenty of leftovers to freeze
if you can't use it all. If you have the storage space, go for the
bigger size.
