Default Black bean sauce with whiskey

Many years ago I made a great Chinese chicken dish with black bean and
whiskey sauce. Then I lost the recipe. I think I have found it, this time
with frog legs, but chicken will work with this one too. (Credit: I found it
on Plate of the Day Food Blog)

I can't wait to make some because the memory has stayed with me for years.

Burnsam Dang - Fried Frog Legs in black bean sauce

Recipe Ingredients:

1)Frog Legs (can use chicken)
2)2 cloves Garlic
3)2-3 green onion stalks
4)2 tblspns dried Chinese black beans
5)1 teasp of sliced ginger
6)Jim beam whiskey
First Chop chop the skinned frog legs:

Chop up some garlic, green onions, and ginger: Then pour a few tblspoons of
olive oil over a medium flame with a sprinkle of salt: Toss in the frog legs
and garlic and ginger: Stir fry with black beans Add in the Whiskey (Jim
Beam or other variation) Cover and let steam for a few minutes. Add salt to
desired level and serve:

Looks interesting and good. Most stirfry recipes avoid olive oil but
in this case you're not using high heat with the frog legs so it should
work fine. For chicken, I think I'd chop thighs into two pieces or use
boneless thigh meat. These would want higher heat so I'd switch to
peanut oil. Might add a bit of red chile flakes, too, since that goes
well with black beans and the chicken is more robust than frog legs.

Frog legs are good.....

Giant prawn are better. ;-d

Love the recipe mix! I've not played around with whiskey as an
ingredient. Thanks for the concept!

The frog leg recipe would go with this Chuckle Of The Day:

I liked the whiskey part of the subject line.

Did a "somebody else's" black bean soup recipe last month. The kind only a
mother could love and still throw away. ((

I've never made it, but I've eaten lots of it. Yummy stuff,
expecially Cuban style (no meat).
