.............if anyone is interested.

I'm almost at the end of this very long kitchen project.

Now, --- should I crack open a bottle of champagne and throw it on the
floor? (and drink it up, of course)!

Sorry... I'm not sure why you cannot. I can.

Yes, it is odd. I tried on another computer and still can't open it. I
don't usually have trouble opening "tinypic" files. Oh well...

'Almost' - as in nearly finished Hopefully the molding won't take
another 4 months.

Congratulations! What a nice, roomy, airy kitchen you have and the tile
turned out lovely. I'd say crack open the bottle - but don't crack it on
the floor. Don't mess up the pretty tile!

Some browsers have issues with the first three additions to tinypic
URL's.
I've pretty much eliminated that problem as when I post them, I remove
those first three digits befor "tinypic".

She can try these:

http://tinypic.com/x282vs.jpg
http://tinypic.com/x286c0.jpg

I just removed the "i3."

Hope this helps? :-)

No go. This is positively weird, as I've used tinypic myself many times
to host pictures. Now I can't even get to their website. I'll have to do
some investigating.

Thanks for trying to help.

For a kitchen the molding should be ceramic tile too.

Your floor looks really pretty! We have ceramic tile in several areas in
our home (kitchen included) and the molding is just the regular stuff.

I've had ceramic tile in several homes, both with and without ceramic
molding. Wood molding looks much nicer in a residential setting.

I'm sure you've seen it, just didn't register...

If you check at any tile emporium... most all tile manufacturers
produce matching trim and cove tile for each of their products.

There are various configurations but essentially they look like this:
http://www.infotile.com.au/oldeengli...cessories2.jpg

Cove tiles are typically recommended where tile flooring can get wet
and/or the floor will be subjected to wet mopping... like bathrooms and
kitchens.

Naturally you can get by without the tile cove base but it's a much
more functional and nicer looking installation with. I can guarantee
you that if you use wood base moldings for a tiled kitchen floor it
won't be six months and they will look like crap... that is unless you
never spill anything or wash your kitchen floor. You can get by with
vinyl strip cove molding that's set with adhesive, it'll offer some
protection from moisture but it won't look nice with ceramic tile
flooring.

I wouldn't consider installing a tile kitchen floor without the tile
cove molding... adds very little cost (no more than decent wood
molding) and very little additional labor.

In general living space, living rooms/bedrooms you don't need ceramic
cove tile, those are not high moisture areas... but you skimped in your
kitchen or got ripped off... you probably don't have tile under your
kitchen and bath cabinets either... if you did it yourself you didn't
know better, if your contractor did it you were ripped off royally....
most contractors are thieves, they set the cabinets then tile up to it.
They save tile and labor, they don't care that the wood cabinets will
warp/shrink/expand and break away and leave a horrid looking gap, that
will also trap water that will make a bad situation much worse, and
that some day you may want to change cabinets or do some renovation and
with no tiles in those area you have a major (and costly) addition to
your job... probably will need to redo the entire floor. And your
counter surface will be about an inch lower... an inch is a lot, ask
any woman. hehe

Anyone considering building new or doing a kitchen/bath renovation must
insist on ceramic cove tiles and any tile work be installed over the
entire floor first, then set the cabinetry over it.... it's like maybe
$100 extra material and the crew is there installing anyway so it's
only a little extra labor... but contactors are thieves... they know
that the vast majority of their customers are ignorant about building.
You'd be amazed on how many things they cheat on, $50 here, $100 there,
even $5 and $10 in hundreds of places, it all adds up to big bucks...
and then down the road the customer pays ten times more to redo all the
schlock.

.............if anyone is interested.

I can finally see you pictures!!!

Elaine, I think your kitchen is perfect. It's very workable and yet cozy,
warm, and inviting. I don't think you could ask for more.

My problem with tinypic must have been muy ISP. I tested for everything
possible and nothing seemed wrong with my machine or configuration. I
changed nothing, yet this afternoon I am once again able to access tinypic
to view or load pictures.

Do post again when absolutely everything is done (or other interim shots,
as well).

Aww...thanks Wayne.

I'm glad you can access the tiny pic thing. I'm hosting a baby shower for a
neighbour on June 10th. Everything must be finished by then!
