Mustard seed is the least expensive spice... less than $4/lb... $9 worth will carry you a loooong, looooooong time. All those pricey teensy jars of designer mustards are a giant rip off... you're paying for novel jars and fancy-schmancy labels. And prepared mustard is easier to make than mayo. http://homecooking.about.com/library.../aa010101a.htm Sheldon |

I'll be expecting the usual pics in email ![]() This is the year of the daffodil and a few other deer resistants; hyacinths, irises, etc. Also a dozen blueberry bushes were just planted and put in a strawberry patch too... decided to give up a quarter of my vegetable garden to berries. And two new crabapple trees (Malus Cardinal), and a purple leaf beech (Fagus S. Riversi). Order a few pounds of mustard from Penzys. And save your mayo jars, the new Hellmans/Best Foods glass ones with the plastic caps... no metal ever with mustard. Sheldon |

The newer plastic ones are lightweight and flimsy and there's nor eason to keep em. I'd love to be able to find glass again. Lucky you! |
