Why don't you make your own mustard??? Mustard seed is the least
expensive spice... less than $4/lb... $9 worth will carry you a
loooong, looooooong time. All those pricey teensy jars of designer
mustards are a giant rip off... you're paying for novel jars and
fancy-schmancy labels. And prepared mustard is easier to make than
mayo.

This is the year of the daffodil and a few other deer resistants;
hyacinths, irises, etc. Also a dozen blueberry bushes were just
planted and put in a strawberry patch too... decided to give up a
quarter of my vegetable garden to berries. And two new crabapple trees
(Malus Cardinal), and a purple leaf beech (Fagus S. Riversi).

Order a few pounds of mustard from Penzys. And save your mayo jars,
the new Hellmans/Best Foods glass ones with the plastic caps... no
metal ever with mustard.

Oh, you're so lucky that you can still find the glass jars! they
changed from glass jars (which I have a dozen of in my cabinet for
freezing stock or spaghetti sauce or soups, the 32 oz size) to plastic
jars. The newer plastic ones are lightweight and flimsy and there's nor
eason to keep em. I'd love to be able to find glass again. Lucky you!
