Default How my mother taught me to cook.

She said "Sure you can have hamburgers for breakfast -- if you cook
them yourself."

I learned in a similar way - my mother didn't cook. Tv dinners were the
norm and junk from a can (like spaghetti O's) - TV dinners made me ill
so I learned how to cook out of self-defense.

My mother taught me to cook by leaving me with my father and two brothers
when her father died. I came home from high school and said, "What, you
expect ME to cook?" LOL Yeah, that was it. Took one turn at raw
hamburgers for them to figure out cooking isn't a female gene
