I should've clarified the 'certain things.'
Thanks for sending the IBS symptoms.
No IBS.

Not necessarily. There are some indiviuals who have bodies which will
detect and reject *some* high bacterial-count foods - and they purge
almost immediately. I have done this previously for dishes I often eat
- but on the occassion in question, it was obvious that something was
wrong with the food item. DH has this reaction almost immediately to
any tainted food. He also has a very low tolerance for anything with a
high bacterial count.

Yes, I do have lactose intolerance -- or so I've thought -- but it doesn't
happen all the time is what leads me to believe that it is not.
I took the lactose pills at one time -- they didn't do a thing and it was a
real PITA to add yet another pill to my regimen.
Sometimes I've wonder if it has to do with homogenization -- but I've read
just enough about it to be dangerous, and know not to discuss it here and
don't ask me why not ;-))
Thanks,
Dee Dee

Yes! I wash mine just prior to cutting. Too many hands (and insect
legs/feet) touched it at the market...
