I assume it's comparable to tuna in the way it's packaged,
you'd add mayo, etc to make salad?

(laugh) No, but someone stuck a whole dead chipmunk in
my pool, does that count?

Oh, no, she stays inside. Only outside occasionally when she can
be watched. No, once in a while my pool presents me with some
dead rodent or bird. Or frog. Unfortunate.

Too bad it wasn't a raccoon; I can find a recipe for grilled racoon!

nancy,

Leave a boogie-board half in and half out of the water by the stairs.
Eventually the frogs and critters will find their way there and can save
themselves. Give it a try.

In the beginning, with the pool system set to auto-on in the morning, I'd
come down to the pool to clean the skimmer and there'd be a handful or
more of frogs spinning around yelling "Help us Andy!!!" No auto-on after
that.

Ah the joys of pool ownership. I have learned that dead
opossums sink, while most other mammals float. Mostly, I get
mice and moles, and an occasional young squirrel. The chipmunks
that live near my pool seem smart enough not to get themselves
drowned. Frogs, if I find them soon enough get transferred to
my goldfish pond, if they end up back in the pool again I
transport them to a stream a couple miles away, where they
are probably eaten by the local geese ;-).

Our one clutzy cat has managed to fall in, but promptly got
himself back out. The other, non clutzy cat has avoided
it except to look at us in disbelief when we are in swimming.

Only if you're going to add mayo and make a salad.

IIRC, it was Sweet Sue Canned Whole Chicken. I don't believe it's made
anymore.

That's why we got rid of our pool & all the maintenance that goes with it --
among other things.

Every day or everyother day there would be a critter in it.
Let's see -- there were chipmunks, rabbits, squirrels, snakes, turtles,
mice, frogs
I couldn't imagine getting this water in my mouth. Yikes!

I forgot to mention in my list of critters in our pool -- a groundhog.
We did put a board for stairs for them -- it may have cut down, but not so
you'd notice, because it was a usual occurrence.
DH would pick out and strain out the little froggies/babies and take them
down to the creek.
Cute.

Dee Dee,

You had a groundhog IN your pool??? I had one that I humane trapped cause
he had front and back and side doors under the fence, but never saw him
in the pool! Must've been spooked and ran in the wrong direction?

I spooked a squirrel when I entered through the pool gate and it launched
from behind the BBQ grill INTO the pool, swam across to the steps and
launched about 10 feet onto a tree, like the rat that he is and scurried
away out of sight. Never saw the moose.

I remember that! A whole chicken (deboned) in a can (the size of a large
fruit juice can). How they managed to debone the thing and leave it whole,
I don't know, but they did it. I wonder why they don't sell it anymore? It
would actually be a good thing to contribute to a food pantry that can't
take "fresh" foods for families to make chicken soup or stew or chicken &
dumplings. Would beat the heck out of donating canned SPAM

This is a peeve of mine. What the heck is semi-boneless? Either it
has some bone in it or not, there is no semi-boneless!
