Default Foods for a bitchy mood...

Bad mood, not good, but I will start the grill anyway.
I have chicken marinating.

No chocolate in the house, any suggestions? :-P

Most likely PMS........
combined with very wet, stormy weather. I'll be grilling in a muddy
yard. <sigh> The sun is out for now so I'll take advantage of it but all
my wood is wet. I'll have to use only bagged charcoal.

Pththththhthth!!!!!!!!!!!!

In addition, I'll be grilling mushrooms, squash, onions and steaming
some carrots.

Green Iguana

1 shot tequila
2 shots Midori
4 shots Sweet and Sour mix

Mix together in a shaker (or an empty jar with a lid) and shake with plenty
of ice. Strain into a margarita glass or serve on the rocks.

No chocolate chips? No beat-up package of Swiss Miss in the back of
the cupboard? Scrounge!

Darn, now you've done it. I was perfectly happy sitting here
digesting the last of the Yonah Schimmel knishes that I bought Friday,
without chocolate on my mind. You made me go and finish off the
Cadbury bar I'd been picking on for a few days!

Add something spicy. A nice lip-burn improves your day every time.

If you were a true chocoholic, you'd go to the store.

<lol> Good suggestion, but it's Sunday and the liquor stores are
closed.... Since it's after 12, I can now purchase wine so looks like
it's gonna be wine coolers. ;-) I'm out of Tequila.....

Thanks!

I've been so good for so long on WW, but the other night I grabbed some
Ghirardeli chocolate chips out of the freezer and downed them before they
thawed. :-)

Can't. Trucks in the shop for the weekend getting the exhaust system
fixed. :-P Won't pass inspection until I shell out $700.00. <sigh>
Hate to use the visa card but there's no choice here. 'sides I'm tired
of the truck being audible a mile away!

So, no transportation. <grumble>

A bad mood calls for lots of red meat and red wine.

Blech. San Francisco taffy-factory tourist trash. The Godiva of the
grocery store.

Go to Callebaut. The pastilles aren't as big as they used to be (they
used to be like double-sized coffee beans, now they're like half-sized
toll-house chips, probably to facilitate quick and smooth melting for
those emergency ganaches), but they're still the best chocolate-heroin
fix in town. 3 grams of that per day and I stay out of trouble.

And the truffles, oh the truffles...

Warning: Callebaut assortments are $48 per pound. And worth every
ever-loving penny. So bring a credit card. And a cooler with a towel
and an ice-pack in it. You don't want these going soft on your
passenger seat in the Scottsdale sun.

Just getting out in the sun and doing the cooking is making me feel
better, that and the booze. <lol> The darned mud is nasty tho', I
dropped some bricks in front of the grill to stand on and am not wearing
shoes. It's easier to clean mud off of feet than off of shoes!

Oh lordy... Guacamole and tortilla chips demands margaritas! ;-D

The only thing better than a gossip rag is a good sloppy harlequin
romance. The "junk food" of the literary world!

Lindt's truffles......
Better than Godiva by far!

Truly.

And more affordable.

OTOH, I've never had Callebaut. I'll have to look for them just for

Hot, fresh-baked bread and real butter.

Bakery food--like chocolate eclairs--or whatever your
favorite is.

A nice bowl of split pea or bean soup.

You need some carbs to get those feel-good brain
chemical going. Preferably complex so they don't
raise you up then drop you flat.

That's actually an excellent point.
I am grilling some veggies so those will work.
Squash, mushrooms, carrots, onions. Better (more complex) than bread.

It might still be under warranty. The car manufacturers don't like to
talk about it, but the catalytic converters and other emissions
equipment are guaranteed for something like 7 or 8 years.

There aren't a whole lot of carbs in those veg, though. Might want to add
some potatoes or pasta

Ohmigod, the cuteness will kill me!

ObFood: Planning a budget for Tokyo (going for a couple weeks in
August), and of course deciding how much to budget for sushi is hard.
Clearly, sushi is an important thing, and clearly I should have money
