Anyway, even without that, Velveeta can be shredded with a regular box grater or food processor. The only thing that turned me off about the recipe is the blue cheese. I'm not sure if I would want blue cheese in macaroni and cheese. Other than that, I see nothing disgusting about it. |

Perhaps compare the 22 oz of cheese to the presumably 16 oz of pasta and then get back to us on the disgusting part. With perhaps 3x the pasta it might work out ok, but as is it's heavy cheese soup with mystery lumps of pasta floating in it. Pete C. |

It sounds pretty gross to me... I don't really like cheese, so I only like mac-and-cheese if it's light on the cheese and has other things to give it flavour (like onion/garlic and bacon/ham) With this recipe you might as well just eat the cheese and forget about cooking it! |

I could imagine any part of this as in ingredient in a recipe (reserving judgment on the velveeta, since I haven't had that in years), but the whole combination seems a little bit manic. Donna |

This is, in fact, Star Jones' exact mac/cheese recipe lifted right off her website (surprisingly, the only page I could access, being unwilling allow browser cookies). While not a View fan, I've been laughing my ass off all day over the jokes and gossip about Star Jones. There is also no flour / roux in the recipe so outside of whatever plasticizers might be liberated from the Velveta there isn't much to thicken or homogenize it. The 12 oz of cheddar will also release a lot of oil to add to the butter. Suggest you attempt to make it and post pictures of the result on ABF. Pete C. |

I don't mean to defend her, I am not at all familair with her or her story. But I do know I got kind of obsessive and unpleasant when I was on a diet myself. Low blood sugar seemed to be the main reason. It wasn't much fun, and I suspect I was less pleasant company than I would like to be. It passed when my eating gradually moved to maintenance level, but even then, my body needed around 9 months to not feel ravenous all the itme (and even moreso after meals). I just mean to say - she might start acting more relaxed after some time. |
