I'll never forget the time my mother invited my friend who was purely Italian over for spaghetti dinner. Rather than make her usual sauce with diced tomatoes and a couple of Tbs. of tomato paste, she used mostly paste. And that's exactly what it tasted like... red paste. I was very embarrassed. Red sauce (gravy) is normally something mom could do without error, but not this time! I'd say, buy some canned diced tomatos (or fresh, if they are available and look nice). Ripley, TN tomatoes are abounding now; I need to get some and make sauce ![]() Jill |
