which sounds perfect.

Default I got a house!!!!!!!!

Heya folks,

Some of you know that I have been house hunting here in Albuquerque,
NM, for the last 2 months.

Well, this last weekend, I saw a house, and liked it..and applied for
it. Wasn't sure I would get it, due to several factors, but
yesterday I signed a lease for it!!!!

It's up in the foothills, above Tramway, for those of you that know
Albuquerque. Has a very nice kitchen with a sunroom attached, a gas
stove...and it comes with a fridge. I will now have 2 fridges!!!!!
My own, and this one.. .plus my freezer... WooHoo!!!!!

Has a really nice patio where one can sit and see over
Albuquerque..and watch the sunsets.

And now that I have this house, this will be your first announcement
of a cook-in to be held here about a year or so from now, during Hatch
Chile season. This kitchen, with it's attached sunroom and
den/family room will be wonderful for a cook-in. And I have more than
enough cooking equipment, and then some..and I will have room for it
all.... See the cooking references, y'all?

Some of you have seen pics..... When I get my stuff unpacked and
arranged, I will show you all pics.

Actually, not too bad. It can be hot, but it's a very dry heat..so
feels much less hot. And we are about a mile above sea level, so that
helps make a difference.

Michael, plan ahead. Come to the cook-in, in about a year or so...

That's great news Christine. I'm so happy for you.
I missed the cook-in at Terry's and missed seeing all of you.
I truly miss New Mexico and am very jealous.
Have fun settling into your new digs.

Christine, that's wonderful! I hope that doesn't mean you'll be MIA at
the next San Diego/OC cookin!

And your leftover limoncello that you so kindly left me got rave
reviews at a dinner party at my house last weekend. I am generous to a
fault, as I had every intention of keeping it for myself! The DH has a

We'll have to see. I'll come to the southern Cal one, if you all come
to the NM one that will take place a year or so from now... Don't
you think that is a fair trade?

So, when are you making some more? I plan to start a batch after I
get all my stuff out of storage, and unpacked.

Let me know what food related events you will be having. I am only a
days drive from Phoenix...

Plus, I still come through that way now and then...at least until I
give up my California address this fall. And I will still be coming
through when I take California assignments.

And you AZ/Phoenix folks....I hope you ALL show up for a NM cook-in
here next year. I still think Hatch Chile season would work
well...say over Labor Day Weekend.

Finally!!!!!! LOL

I think that would be the perfect celebration cake to bake in my new
kitchen!!!!!

For those of you who don't know what we are talking about, readah made
this wonderful twice baked chocolate cake for the Phoenix cook-in two
years ago. I have been bugging her for the recipe ever since!

Can you copy it for her, or scan it in? Just trying to save

That's what I was thinking, Nancy-- copy, scan and email... but then I
couldn't share with the rest of you. Now if I can just remember to
bring that cookbook to work before we move so it doesn't get packed
away again.
