Christine, do you have a floor plan and a list of items you have than use
floor space? It would be much easier to plan a layout that way.

Not really, Wayne.

All my stuff has been in storage for 3 years now, and I find I keep on
forgetting stuff I have.... I have been going over the layout in my
old house, and saying, "oh, I have that too!"......

I am getting some ideas... I had thought of putting all my cookbooks
in that little den/family room, but I am thinking of putting all those
tall bookcases in the dining room.... At this moment, I have four
7-foot tall bookcases that are filled with cookbooks. I am thinking
if I put them there, I will have room for more bookcases, and more
cookbooks... LOL

Maybe a much smaller bookcase in the family room for frequently used
cookbooks..that is an idea that is popping up a lot now.... And maybe
an easy chair nearby where I can sit and read them....

Right now, I am very, very short on money,as all my available cash is
going to get my furniture here. So I can't buy anything new until
things loosen up a bit.

I do have a microwave cart with a microwave, and I was thinking of
putting that on the wall that is between the dining room and the
sunroom, next to that entrance (in the kitchen, of course). That is
just an idea, and I will have to see how it works, when I actually get
my furniture.

Right at the moment, I am trying to decide the best positions for
countertop appliances. I know I will put my utensils (like wooden
spoons, spatulas, and all those things we use while cooking) near the
stove. I have several crocks filled with those things. Here are
some of the pics to give you an idea:

These are some of the appliances I have:

I have many more, when I get everything here. Like at least another
food processor, and a Osterizer blender which has a food processor
attachment.

Also trying to figure out where to put my knife block, so I can have
my knives within easy reach, in a good spot. I might put those on my
big butcher block work table...which will go back to back with that
moveable island in the center of the kitchen. I am going to have
that overhand facing out to the family room, and possibly have bar
stools of some type there.

What do you think?

Christine, getting ready for work tonight
