sugar substitutes

My wife loves to bake and I love her desserts. The problem is the sugar
content keeps me from sleeping if I have dessert too late in the
evening.

I understand that Splenda works well for baking and has no calories.
However will it give me a 'sugar high' (since it is made from sugar)
and keep me from sleeping?

How about the other sugar substitutes on the market?

Thanks.

Don't eat too late then.

There's only one way to find out. Try eating something baked with
Splenda in the morning when you won't mind it if Splenda has that effect
on you, then you will know.

If you need them, there are tons of recipes that use Splenda which you
can easily find by plugging "Splenda recipes" into Google.

It is an "other sugar substitute."

Thanks for all the responses. We may give Splenda a try since that's
supposed to work well for baking.
