Default Midwest Cook-In, Anyone?

One of Crash's friends (who is now my friend, too) recently moved to
our little hamlet, and it turns out he's a major foodie. We HAVE to
have a cook-in. We're thinking sometime in the first half of
September, before it starts getting chilly, but when it's not as hot
as earlier in the season. We are still without air conditioning.

We live just north of the Minnesota/Iowa border, in Albet Lea, MN, at
the intersection of I-35 and I-90.

We have two refrigerators, a gas stove, a smoker, a gas grill, an R2D2
Coleman smoker, and a tabletop kettle-type grill. Also, nearly every
small kitchen appliance known to man (thank you, Crash).

I'm pretty sure we can talk Joe into making some homemade ice cream,
and Crash will smoke some salmon, of course. I still have to figure
out what I'm good at.

The Midwest cook-ins usually go from Friday evening until Sunday
afternoon, because we're all pretty spread out geographically, and
people come in to town for the weekend. Feel free to make a one-day
(I suggest Saturday) appearance, if that's what you can swing.

We just this minute thought to have a cook-in, so I don't have a whole
lot of details, obviously. I'm waiting for Pam, the Mustard Lady from
Wisconsin, to find out what her work schedule is, and we'll go from
there regarding an exact weekend (she's the closest, and most likely
to show up, so we're working around her schedule).

We can afford to provide some generic soda pop, but if you want the
name brand stuff or liquor of any kind, we have to ask you to provide
it. Sorry, that's just our situation. We can probably do better next
year, if there's a demand. There will be coffee, iced tea, and water
available, as well.

Any takers?
Damsel, Crash, and Joe
