Greetings,
I have been asked to find an AllClad slow cooker (Please don't tell me to get a Rival or some such, this is a specific request) Of course my first look was to Amazon.com but they say it has been discontinued, though it was featured on The CBS Early Show quite recently. Looking at other sources it seems to me that there are two models, one has the blue time panel at the top of the control panel and the other it is in the center. Does anybody out there know if one model is newer or what other differences there may be between them. The CBS show (sponsored by Williams Sonoma) has the panel in the center but the only local one I can find has the panel at the top. Thanks, Doug. P.S I have a Hamilton Beach, at the moment it is cooking Lamb Shanks from that CBS recipe. |

I checked the All-Clad web site and can find no mention of slow cookers. Jill |

I have a 7 quart oval Hamilton Beach. I love it! It has no timer (big whup!) but it has a warm, low and high setting. It also came with a thermal carrying case and big heavy bands to wrap from the cooker handles up around the knob on the lid to ensure no spills when transporting already cooked food to another place, like for a pot luck or a party. I paid under $40 for it. Jill |

She had an opportunity to compare the All-Clad to her Rival Smart Cooker (or whatever those things are called) and she liked her Rival better. Chris |

I have the Rival model, no different from all-crap's except for the handles, and half the price. If I wanted superlative ethetics the Cusinart beats them all hands down. You really haven't looked... search <all-clad slow cooker> http://www.cutleryandmore.com/acslow...htm?code=99003 http://www.slate.com/id/2113226/ Sheldon |

The ceramic crock insert will keep the food warm for quite a while once it's turned off, even without a special setting telling it to do so (and you have to keep it plugged in for that, no?). I really like the lined thermal carry case and the sealer bands for holding the lid on my 7qt. model, in case I have to take it on a road trip before I plug it back in ![]() Hamilton Beach gets my vote over the (untested by me) $100 All-Clad for value and features.
